General Description

This event will bring together residential and small balance commercial property investors, REO experts, industry experts, and other real estate professionals for a night of networking and education.

Rebecca Smith

Rebecca has been in the Real Estate, Mortgage Servicing and Default Industry’s for over 16 years. Since joining Green River Capital in 2008, she has held management positions in Valuation Services, Agent Relations and Client Relations. Rebecca helped create a vendor network and establish best practices for the valuations operation, which lead to her managing the agent/broker network for all of REO management. In her current role as Director of Client Relations, Rebecca continues to support the operation by managing communications, maintaining strong relationships, and leading the company’s initiative of providing the highest level of client service. 

Prior to joining Green River Capital, Rebecca worked for 406 Partners where she managed Valuation and REO Sales functions. Rebecca started her career in 1999 at Select Portfolio Servicing (fka Fairbanks Capital), earning years of experience with lead roles in early payment default and loss mitigation.

Recently, Rebecca was named one of the MReports “Leading Ladies” in a special issue celebrating the accomplishments of women in the mortgage industry. 


David Mackenzie

Josh joined Forsythe Appraisals in 2005 as a provisional appraiser and earned my certified appraiser license in 2006. By 2009, Josh earned the title of senior appraiser and branch manager of the CT branch of Forsythe Appraisals. The branch is annually recognized for achievements in appraisal turnaround times, high profit margins and exceeding branch budget goals.  His branch completes around 3000 appraisals each year, consisting of a variety of product types including REO appraisals.  Josh has also been an instructor of appraisal classes at the National Real Estate Institute located in Cromwell, CT.

When not working, Josh enjoys spending time outdoors and being involved with all types of sports including golf and softball.Josh’s family consist of his wife, Elizabeth and 2 children, Rex, 5, and Josette, 2. Currently he resides in Avon, CT.

Jeffrey Tesch, Managing Director, is responsible for the day-to-day operations of RCN Capital LLC, including sales growth initiatives, underwriting review with compliance oversight and leadership of senior level strategic planning. Joining the Company in 2010, Tesch led efforts to develop a national brand in private lending with the best practices and transparent products for a diverse customer base. Since RCN’s inception, Jeff has personally underwritten over 2,016 loans and overseen $403M+ in originations. Jeff’s previous real estate experience was as an investor in both commercial and residential properties, ranging from single family homes to commercial retail centers. Jeff currently serves as a member of the American Association of Private Lenders’ (AAPL) Ethics Advisory Committee.

Tom Truong
Carrington Real Estate Services

Tom has a passion for real estate and entrepreneurship. Leveraging these two passions has helped him build successful real estate businesses, helping thousands of clients achieve their real estate buying and selling goals; helping hundreds of real estate professionals achieve their own successes; and helping many distressed homeowners get out of very ugly situations, by purchasing and renovating many as-is, where-is, with-all-faults homes and putting them back into the retail market.

Tom works at Carrington Real Estate Services, as the Area VP, Team Leader, Consultant for Buyers & Sellers of Residential & Commercial Real Estate. At Homevestors, the “We Buy Ugly Houses” guys, Tom is a Developer, a Real Estate Investor; a Teacher/Mentor.  His two non-profits consists of serving as the Incoming National President 2018-19 for the Asian Real Estate Association of America, aka AREAA, with over 15,000 members nationally. And as a Board of Directors at the Greater Boston Association of Realtors, with over 9,000 Realtor members. 

Jonathan Gineo

Jonathan has been the #1 Realtor in New England for 2 years and #2 Nationwide for the amount of homes sold. He consistently closes well over 100 homes a year and leads a very well trained and highly skilled team of agents with many diverse areas of specialization that includes unique or "challenged" properties, luxury and custom homes, REO, HUD and his team is proud to put a special focus on service to the LGBT community. 

Jonathan is also the Owner and Broker of the Nutmeg Property Group, which focuses on the brokerage, management and re-development of residential real estate. He works with a company full of passionate individuals that are dedicated to conducting real estate in a socially responsible way.


Scott Hollister

Scott Hollister is a local rehabber/ buy & hold investor. He is an educator in Connecticut and an avid investor. Scott co-founded the Central Connecticut BiggerPockets meetup. The focus of the group is to bring investors together, to provide help and information, and to openly share advice without a hidden agenda.

Scott acquired a passion for real estate after reading books on investing. After he invested in a few single-family homes, he started David Wesley Real Estate. He hopes to elevate the company to a global brand which will help educate and guide people during the home buying process. He is currently pursuing creative ways to financial freedom. 

Joseph Barletta

Since first starting out in 2002, Joe is a highly successful full time real estate investor and licensed broker in CT. He is the owner of Sell Fast Home Buyers, a residential redevelopment company located in North Haven.

Many investors consider him the go to expert for finding, negotiating, and acquiring off market real estate deals.

Joe personally implements and educates investors on marketing systems that target financial, situational or property related factors. By focusing on specific situations he is able to create optimal investment opportunities.

Andy Williams

Andy Williams is the founder of Recon Realty, a licensed Real Estate Brokerage Firm with the state of Texas, best defined as a social venture structured as a platform to empower transitioning Veterans to identify the Real Estate industry as a viable career path and choice. In early 2017, Recon Realty was featured on the HGTV show "Flipping Texas". 

As a Finance Expert, Andy has effectively originated, underwritten, and closed over $250,000 million of real estate finance transactions in the current real estate marketplace; continuously identifying trends and definitive shifts in inventory and investor appetite. Mr. Williams most recent venture included an entrepreneurial position with B2R Finance, a Blackstone Tactical Opportunities venture launched in 2013 that was recently acquired by Finance of America.

From 2005 to the present, Mr. Williams has personally invested in over 100 Real Estate transactions, many of which he holds in his portfolio today.
